Club members will be aware of the Junior Development Squad which runs from Christmas through to Easter for youngsters of 6 – 18 years. This is run with a great deal of coaching support from the Club, but has also traditionally relied heavily on parent helpers. This year those helpers will be particularly important as we will potentially have less instructors available per session due to some of them being needed to support athletes in international competition!
FREE tuition sessions in cross-country ski-ing, rollerskiing (8yrs and up), and nordic walking.
Second hand skis boots and poles for sale. In partnership with Huntly Nordic Ski Club.
Any help from Club members very much appreciated, as always.

Earlier this summer I took a few short films to demonstrate different skate skiing techniques. They are demonstrated by members of the Brit Nordic team, so you could do a lot worse than copy them. Hopefully I can get Roy to write something to explain the different techniques
This is good for going up steep hills, it’s the equivalent on 1st gear on a car. Note this is an asymmetric style, it’ s important to practice it on both sides so you develop your technique evenly. The ski poles are supposed to hit the ground simultaneously with the lead ski.
Here we see Andrew Musgrave going up a hill.
