New Theme for club website
I’m trying a new theme (Patiner 1.1) for the club website. What do you think? It’s a bit simpler than the old one. I’ll probaby add some graphics in the banner when I get a moment
Ming Event 15th May
Rick has contacted me to highlight the Ming Endurance event which will be held on May 15. It has been very well attended in the last few years . There are two courses to choose from and there is also the Ceilidh in the evening. The endurance event is free with donations to British Nordic Development Squad. The Ceilidh is also in aid of BNDS, tickets from Rick.

If The Snow Lasts Until Next Saturday…and Snow Report
We will have made it to 100 snow cover days in the current season! Peter Thorn was wondering if we should do something to celebrate…
Here’s Colin Millers Snow report from March 20th
Buck Tour 13th March 2010
For the past few years I have wanted to do some mountain touring, I even bought myself some posh skis and boots, but never quite got out to actually use them until last week. Pete was good enough to organise a trip, there was snow and I had a pass out. I’ve often looked up at the Buck when I’m in the Clash car park and thought it would be great to ski up it. Now my opportunity had come. Continue reading

Snow Report 16th March 2010
Temperature plus 5, calm, dry. Based on the Short Cut/Leids Leap circuit, there has been no loss of snow since those trails were pisted on 14th March. Trails are fast and compacted, tramlines almost icy. Snow depth off-piste now 70cm, therefore the natural snowpack has reduced by 3-5cm/day over the past 3 days. There is a short (50m.) break in the trail near the main entrance, but no sign of any thinning elsewhere on the loop. Judging by the forecast, conditions will change over Wednesday and Thursday.

Clash Snow Report 13th March 2010
87 Skiable days in the Clash this season. Will we make 100?
On the trails, the depth of the layer of soft snow on top of the compacted snowpack is 5cm on shadowed sections and 10-15cm on the sunny bits. Tramlines are glazed and good to ski. Off-piste there are varying grades of yoghurt. The off-piste level snow depth near foot of Short Cut is 80-85cm (down about 10cm from last weekend). Apart from the short thin section near the main entrance, everything still looks good.
Save Your Tesco Vouchers
Eileen Cosgrove says…
The British Nordic Development Squad will be collecting TESCO school and club vouchers again this year.
They have been available since the beginning of March.
Last year we collected about 30,000 and bought hurdles, shot putts and yoga mats with them. I’m not sure what is on Roy’s wish list this year.
Please leave vouchers at the ski centre or give them to Eileen
