Club Gets Grant from Snowsport Scotland

Huntly Nordic Ski Club has received a grant of £3,000 from the Snowsport Scotland to buy some new classic roller ski equipment. This is primarily aimed at improving the range of skills children can acquire dry land training during the winter Junior Development Squad, but members will also be able to practice their classic technique on club  nights using this equipment.

Thanks to Snowsport Scotland for supporting development of cross-country skiing!

Action Girls’ Weekend

There’s another opportunity for girls/young women to do some sport with the Action Girls weekend on 26th/27th November. It’s aimed at the 10 to 16 age group and any fitness ability and will be held at Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre.

Winter Events

Here’s a couple of flyers from the ski centre.

Coming up is the Fast & Female weekend which promises “Dancing, Running, Jumping, Skipping, Bounding, Hopping, Crunching and Gliding” for girls aged 10-16. Sarah Young and Olwen Thorn are running it so I’m sure it will be a blast.

Also the winter programme for the ski centre which includes lots of activities for the Tattie Holidays, it’s probably still not too late to book your children in. It’s worth pointing out the Sunday group under 12 sessions are not included in the leaflet but are still going ahead, read all about those in the post at the top of the blog.

Desipte torrential downpours this year’s rollerski championships went off with fewer hitches than previous years.

A strong contingent came from Cairngorm Biathlon and Nordic Ski Club and we also had representatives from the RAF and the Army.

Cairngorm athletes took 1st and 2nd place in the mens seniors competition with Carl Carrier of the RAF taking third place.
