Clash Dash Results

The results from Sunday 15th January 17’s Clash Dash Sprints are below, the first race organised by your new Events Team of Fiona Stewart, Steve Young & Graeme Gibb. They coped very well on dreich day with rapidly deteriorating snow conditions.

Thanks are due to Steve Young for grooming the race circuit. Colin Miller for some strategic snow-shovelling. Eileen Young, Claire Newman & Elizabeth Massie for corralling the juniors to the start line. Frank Musgrave & Neil Duncan for manning the lonely course turn-around marker. And a big thanks to Calum Cruickshank & Alan Telford for going back to the Ski Centre to pick up the club skate skis

Well done to all the competitors for providing everyone (especially Pete) with so much entertainment and photo opportunities on The Fingers.

Huntly Sprints and Clash Hill Climb Results

The results of the Huntly sprints and the Clash Hill Climb are attached below. A special thanks to all the marshals & helpers on both days. Without whose support, patience & good humour we would not be able to run these events.

Huntly Open Championship Results

This year we had a big field of 51 skiers in glorious sunshine. Thank you to all who took part or helped. In particular Chris Barton & Gordonstoun school for marshalling & timekeeping. A special big thanks to Colin Miller Miller & Jason Williamson for last minute snow shovelling that made the entire 8.6km course skiable.

A great battle for thwe first three places in the 8.6km race but Duncan Gibb just held off Charles Fletcher of CBNSC & Arne Bohle.
Duncan Gibb & Beth Maclean become Clashindarroch Cup & Quaich winners 2013. Well done.
Congratulations also go out to Andrew Musgrave, Andrew Young & Alex Standen who were competing in the World Cup 15km F in Davos today. Special mention should be made for Alex who was making his World Cup debut a great comeback after his serious injury last season.

Ski Orienteering Results

The event had a big turnout with 38 skiers taking part from family groups to hot shot youngsters. While some skiers sped around others took a more leisurely approach but hopefully all enjoyed the day. The snow conditions just about held out & the trails are now discontinuous.

Thanks to all who helped or participated.
Tomorrow sees the first JDS session while in Italy a former JDS member will start in the final hill climb stage of the Tour de Ski. Good luck Andrew.

Huntly Championships 2011

Desipte torrential downpours this year’s rollerski championships went off with fewer hitches than previous years.

A strong contingent came from Cairngorm Biathlon and Nordic Ski Club and we also had representatives from the RAF and the Army.

Cairngorm athletes took 1st and 2nd place in the mens seniors competition with Carl Carrier of the RAF taking third place. Huntly fans will be delighted to hear Posy Musgrave took first Senior Female with Army team members Abi Horner and Emma Cope taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Continue reading →
