Last Thursday, 6th August Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre. Andrew Musgrave presented a framed bib from his first world cup race in Kusaamo to the club. Andrews’ race was the first British world cup Nordic start in 14 years and definitely worth celebrating.
Councillor Moira Ingleby attended the presentation as a representative of Aberdeenshire Council and Kenneth Gibb from Aberdeenshire Sports Council.
Roy Young, British Nordic Team Coach, said that getting into the world cup was just a step towards his objectives for the team.
Club chair Alan Telford observed that this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the continuing support of Aberdeenshire Council and Sports Council as well as the funding from the National Lottery for the ski centre rollerski track.
The bib will take pride of place over the counter in the ski centre, hopefully to act an inspiration to others.
